Gilead Community Services provides housing and
support services to adults with severe and prolonged mental illness
who are referred by the State mental health service system.
Gilead Group Homes
Gilead I, Gilead II (in Middletown) and the SCAP Group Home (in
Clinton) are highly structured group homes that offer 24 hour staffing
in a community setting for individuals needing a supportive, supervised
living environment. Intensive psychiatric rehabilitation, daily
living skills training, case management and nursing consultation
services are available to help residents transition to more independent
living situations in the community. Gilead I, Gilead II and SCAP are accredited by CARF.
Gilead Apartment Program (GAP)
Located in Middletown, GAP provides award-winning
intensive 24-hour case management and individualized clinical support
services to clients in both group living and community apartments.
GAP fosters recovery through both independent living and community
integration. Due to its flexibility of services, the Gilead Apartment
Program (GAP) has been able to adapt to the needs of a variety of
individuals with diverse clinical needs. We have developed a reputation
for successfully supporting people with mental illness who have
not been able to succeed at other, more traditional levels of care.

Shoreline Community Apartment Program (SCAP)
SCAP is located in Clinton and serves residents of the Lower Middlesex
County and shoreline towns. A multi-disciplinary team provides intensive
case management and clinical support services through a group home
and a supportive apartment program for residents in independent
housing. The program is designed to foster independent living and
community integration. SCAP is accredited by CARF.
Adolescent Therapeutic Group Home Services
Funded by the Department of
Children and Families (DCF) Gilead provides services within
three Adolescent Therapeutic Group Homes which are community based
programs intended to serve youth who are involved in DCF and have
required significant psychiatric services to improve their mental
illness and reduce the number of disruptive placements. Each group
home consists of a five bed single gender environment that is structured
in a home-like setting with intensive 24 hours a day staffing. Each
home provides an intensive clinical treatment program that creates
a physically, emotionally and psychologically safe milieu for adolescents
that have complex behavioral health needs. The clients attend school
or work programs and are taught skills to assist them in the transition
to young adulthood. The Baldwin Home and the Anchorage Home provide services to five male adolescents ranging in age from 14 to 21. The Iris Home provides services to five female adolescents ranging in age from 14 to 21. The Baldwin Home, the Anchorage Home and the Iris Home are all accredited by CARF.
